November 1, 2026 is the start date for Cloudflare AI Search billing in the official documentation. This is not a product launch today: general availability was announced on October 1, alongside the billing start date.
Who should review the budget
Team owners already using AI Search for website search or an internal knowledge base. Each account receives monthly allowances of 5 million ingestion tokens, 10 GB-month of storage, and separate pools of 1,000 semantic and 1,000 full-text queries. Above the allowances, semantic queries cost $0.75 per 1,000 and full-text queries $0.10 per 1,000. Answer generation, query rewriting and external models are billed through their respective services; their costs should be checked separately.
What the team should do
Nadali recommends creating one cost sheet before approving a budget:
- Record which website or internal workflow depends on the service and who owns the integration.
- Ask the administrator to separate forecasts for search, index updates, storage and generation. Do not multiply one rate by every operation.
- Compare the forecast with actual usage when data becomes available. Mark assumptions about traffic growth separately.
- Agree who reviews the bill and what the team will do if the approved budget is exceeded. Do not switch off customer-facing search without a replacement plan.

The takeaway: this check is for existing users, not every small business. Nadali has not inspected an individual account, verified an actual charge or tested an integration. Consult the documentation for the full rate table and limits; the query rates quoted here are not an estimate of the entire bill.
