AI Builder credit transition reaches November 1: check your contract term

Existing AI Builder credits do not disappear for every team at once. Power Apps and Power Automate users should check their contract and next renewal.

November 1, 2026 is a transition date in Microsoft’s AI Builder credit calendar. Microsoft’s calendar marks November 1, 2026 as the end of life for AI Builder capacity add-ons and credits seeded into premium licenses; future premium licenses will no longer include those credits. It is not a shutdown of AI Builder: its features remain supported using Copilot Credits. Existing credits from capacity add-ons and credits included with licenses remain available through the relevant contract term.

What team owners should check

This article is for businesses already using AI Builder in Power Apps or Power Automate. An October 22 partner notice tells partners to disable automatic renewal of affected capacity packs before the next renewal and plan continued use with Copilot Credits. Coordinate with your administrator or licensing provider; do not blindly cancel an entire Power Platform subscription.

This news concerns a transition milestone, not a new announcement: the calendar traces the change back to October 2025. Remaining AI Builder credits do not automatically convert into Copilot Credits.

A practical sequence

Nadali’s proposal:

  1. List workflows that depend on AI Builder and name an owner for each.
  2. With your administrator, check the credit type, contract end and next renewal. Do not substitute the date of a different subscription.
  3. Before changing funding, check the rate for the particular scenario and approve spending. Two allowances called credits do not imply the same cost per operation.
  4. Prepare a manual fallback for urgent work and a result check after approved changes. Our AI workflow recovery guide offers a starting point.

The takeaway: check your own contract term rather than expecting every credit balance to disappear on November 1. These are recommendations, not a test or a change to a customer’s settings. Nadali has not inspected a particular account or priced its workflows.
