On October 29, OpenAI announced increased Work and Codex allowances. Pro 100 and Pro 500 received twice their previous included usage. The lower Pro 200 allowance doubled to match the higher one; subscribers already on the higher allowance kept it. The previously announced Pro 200 reduction was canceled.

Who benefits

Business owners already using personal Pro subscriptions for approved work tasks. Review spending before an additional purchase, but this news is not a recommendation to upgrade to a more expensive plan.

This is a separate October 29 change, not a property of the Terra model announced earlier.

No need to resubscribe

According to OpenAI’s help page, existing subscriptions update automatically without waiting for renewal. There is no need to cancel and resubscribe to Pro 200. Plus usage is unchanged; Pro 200 did not gain Ultrafast.

Our editorial checking sequence:

  1. Confirm that you opened the account with the intended subscription.
  2. Check available usage before a large task, rather than relying on the old reduction notice.
  3. Across several comparable tasks, record allowance consumed, review time and the number of usable results.
  4. Clarify unexplained figures before making an additional purchase.

Limits and takeaway

A larger allowance does not guarantee twice as many completed tasks: consumption depends on the model, work and settings. Update your usage plan without equating allowance with productivity.
