In brief
Google announced post-meeting actions in Meet on October 12, 2026: Gmail email drafts and exporting tasks to Google Tasks. Rollout began October 5 for Rapid and Scheduled Release and may exceed 15 days. This is not a new launch announcement dated October 19. Google’s announcement.
Eligibility
The announcement lists Business Standard/Plus, Enterprise Standard/Plus and Google AI Pro for Education. Administrators can disable the feature, including for individual organizational units or groups.
Current help guidance requires a computer, a Google Calendar meeting, smart features, and Take notes for me and Ask Gemini enabled during the meeting. Email drafting is for the host of a non-recurring meeting with at least one external participant. Do not count on this action for a weekly internal meeting.
Routines can be disabled; Workspace Studio provides execution history. Suggestions depend on meeting settings and content.
Practical value for a small business
Our recommendation for an owner or manager running customer calls: start with one agreed test call without sensitive data. Agree on using AI notes beforehand.
After the call:
- Compare the summary with your own notes.
- Check recipients, agreements, deadlines and owners.
- Remove promises the team did not approve.
- Confirm that the required tasks actually appeared before moving work into automation.
Compare drafting and review time with your manual process. If too much correction is needed, keep the existing workflow. This is an editorial checking procedure, not a result from our own service testing or a promise of time savings.
Takeaway
For a small business, the useful outcome is a verified next step, rather than the presence of a button. We have not tested access in a specific account or the quality of Ukrainian-language output.
