The decision before November 16
Anthropic’s guide schedules automatic enablement for November 16, 2026 in existing organizations without an explicit owner decision, if Chat and Cloud code execution and file creation are active. If no explicit choice has been made, enabling both prerequisites after that date also activates the experience. Keep disabled lets owners leave it off.
A practical sequence
Nadali’s recommendations:
- Ask the responsible administrator to inspect the current setting and record a decision: a limited pilot or keeping the experience disabled.
- Before a pilot, review who gets access, which data is permitted and which actions require approval. Configure roles before a limited pilot: standard roles get access when the organization setting is enabled, so move nonparticipants to a custom role without this capability first.
- Give the pilot group one task using fictional data, such as preparing an internal checklist. Inspect the file, time spent correcting it and actual spending. This is a proposed test, not a deployment result.
Limits and takeaway
Organizations using ZDR, a HIPAA-ready configuration or customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK) cannot yet access the unified experience. Enterprise billing remains usage-based; agentic work can consume more tokens than a short chat. The new Efficient mode limits model choice to Sonnet and Haiku, but does not guarantee savings on a particular task.
The practical takeaway: review the access decision before the default changes, then assess usefulness in a small controlled pilot. Nadali has not tested the feature in an organization.
