Waze’s announced deadline for moving away from the old Transport SDK integration has arrived. Its official FAQ sets November 1, 2026 as the migration deadline and warns that dependent features will stop working after that date. Nadali has not tested the actual shutdown; the FAQ gives no time or timezone.
Who is affected
Transport SDK served partner transport applications exchanging data with Waze. Its retirement does not mean the ordinary navigation app or every Waze link is closing. This is workflow-continuity news, not an AI launch.
Small delivery operators should ask their dispatch-software provider whether it uses this specific SDK. Seeing Waze on a courier’s phone does not answer that question.
A visible route does not prove data is reaching dispatch
Waze’s proposed replacement is Navigation Connect API. Its setup documentation describes a separate integration involving a cloud project, app verification and authentication. Updating a phone alone is insufficient.
The same documentation warns that navigation may work with an outdated app version or without the driver’s consent, while trip data is not sent to the backend. Waze on Android and iOS and Google Maps on Android are supported; Google Maps on iOS is not. Launching Navigation Connect requires driving mode, rather than walking or cycling deliveries.
Checks for business owners
Nadali’s editorial recommendation:
- Get written confirmation from your provider of the integration used and whether migration is complete.
- On an approved training trip, check driver navigation and dispatch data reception separately. Record app versions and the result.
- Agree a manual process for reporting delays if automatic data is unavailable. Do not present an old arrival estimate as current.
- Before changes, agree access, location-data handling and costs with the responsible people.
This is a proposed check, not a completed test. For example, a courier may see a route while dispatch still needs to confirm receipt of a new arrival estimate. This is illustrative, with no measured results.
Takeaway: check the entire driver-to-dispatch connection, not just whether a map opens. Nadali has not checked customer accounts, pricing or a particular delivery operation. The FAQ has no original announcement date; an October 30 documentation update does not establish a product launch on that day.
