On October 13, 2026, Google announced a gradual rollout of private Play installation for AI Studio Android apps to users aged 18+ in selected markets, including the US. It requires a regular Google account, without a developer account or public store listing.

What changed

Building Android apps from text prompts arrived in AI Studio on May 19. Google then described an emulator, installation on a device through ADB, and internal testing through a developer account.

Google says sharing these personal apps with a close circle is coming in the following months. The announcement does not confirm availability in Ukraine.

Who could benefit

A small-business owner who wants to try a narrow idea on their own phone. An illustrative example is a personal shop-opening checklist without customer information. This is a possible use case, not a tested product or evidence of time savings.

How to approach a trial

First define one action and its expected result. For example, a completed item’s check mark should survive closing the app. Test an empty list, repeated taps and a phone restart. Record what works and what needs correction; retain your usual workflow as a fallback.

Keep customer records, passwords and payment information out of a trial project. Being absent from a public catalogue does not, by itself, establish that generated code is secure or handles information correctly.

Limits to understand

AI Studio documentation, last updated on August 18, 2026 and checked on October 15, describes Android projects as client-side only, without a server component or support for features requiring one. In particular, do not assume that Google Workspace integration described for web apps also applies to Android. The emulator does not reproduce every real-phone capability, including the camera, NFC and Bluetooth.

Nadali has not tested this new installation route. Check the actual screens and availability in your own account.

Bottom line

For a business owner, this is an opportunity to try a small personal tool. Plan a shared team workflow separately: assign maintenance responsibility, define access rules and agree checks before using real data.
